.James Harden scored 17 points in his debut as a member of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA) but couldn"t prevent his team from losing.

 

Harden scored 17 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished out six assists in 31:22 of action in the Clippers" 2023-24 NBA regular-season game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York, U.S., on Sunday.

 

The Clippers fell to New York 97-111, exposing holes on defense, and dropped to 3-3 on the season. New York, meanwhile, snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 3-4 on the season.

 

The game was highlighted by Harden"s first appearance since joining the Clippers.

 

Harden, who was at odds with the Philadelphia 76ers over a long-term contract, joined the Clippers via trade a week ago. With Harden"s addition, the Clippers formed a "Big Four" with Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook.

 

After taking some time to adjust to his new team, Harden made his debut that night. However, the Clippers" super-luxury roster didn"t immediately improve.
